Hear, hear, Dave. I felt the same too. Hackney is still a bit of a special place in that respect though, I maintain.

To whit, last summer, I went for a wander in Clissold Park. There, I was confronted with a sight that would barely seem possible in mnuch of the world, or even, much of London.

On the tennis courts, two Muslim girls in hijab played tennis; next to them, on the football pitch, played a load of Hasidic Jews and their fathers; next to them, on the grass, a lesbian couple canoodled.

As I walked away - a smile on my lips, I thought "Yup, I`m in Hackney"
