Hm. My childminder was saying to me that the Hackney Empire panto is too expensive for working class families, and that when she did last go it was disproportionately attended by the more affluent folk of Stoke Newington. Inspired by the community the Empire serves maybe, but not affordable to most of them.

Not sniping - just reporting. I really, really don't like panto. The annual production at Stamford's Exchange Hall was enough for me, even if they charge a slightly more 'accessible' £6 - £9 per ticket these days.
