Walking back home from Kings Hall on Tuesday evening with two of my sons I heard from up ahead the terrible crunch of vehicles colliding, then felt that strange sensation of time seeming to stand still while passers by tried to work out what to do. Some walked on, others stood and gawped, waiting for someone else to take responsibility.
I didn't see the incident, but it was good to see that the driver of the car involved had stopped. Lukasz from Candela had come out to help and was being a bit of a hero. The motor bike, lying on its side, had skidded almost to the kerb at the junction with Laura Place. We stuck around until an ambulance arrived. Roads can be perilous places for two-wheelers. I hope the Domino's guy wasn't too badly hurt.
