I often run past these flats when striking out for the far north in the form of Tottenham Lock and beyond (why, sometimes even unto distant Enfield). I have to remind myself that once there was nothing much where the development known as The Wharf E5 has now sprung up, at least as far as I can remember - and it's amazing how quickly I forget such things.
As I pass the properties, either in a sprightly manner (the start of my run) or in a gasping, wheezing, decrepit one (the end of it) I try to spot lifestyle clues about the sorts of people living there. I see bicycles on some of the balconies and therefore suspect the types of funky young professionals long since been priced out of Stoke Newington, although I'm sure there's more to the story than that. I wonder what?
