Via the industrious East London Life blog, I learn that those campaigning to save Manor Gardens Allotments from the Olympic Park have issued an angry press release. It begins:
"Too little, too late! After almost two years of meeting with plot holders and repeatedly promising to carefully move this 100 year old community to a suitable site before eviction the London Development Agency (LDA) now say they haven’t made any ‘promises or commitments’."
The rest is here.
I can't think why anyone could possibly be surprised by this. This is how it always goes. There would never have been any intention on the part of the LDA to act in good faith. The way it operates is to string people along with ameliorative noises until it's too late to change anything.

The LDA is a bit of a mystery to me. But it's not the best at getting itself good press, is it?
