If I may be so bold, I don't think this is personal - it's political.

Boris Johnson's real record on law and order is a legitimate issue for discussion given that he has now announced he wants to appoint himself the chair of the police authority.

He will pose as strong on crime but clearly has double standards when it comes to rich criminals who he went to school with or worked for.

He will no doubt call for tough sentencing and tough policing but he doesn't seem to apply it to disgraced members of the House of Lords or to old Etonians.
