From Pink News:
"The Mayor of London will have the backing of his party leader when he makes his debut at Pride London on July 5th. Boris Johnson is due to take part in the parade on the lead float. He will also make a speech to the assembled crowd in Trafalgar Square."
Seems I needn't have worried after all. (Thanks, Tony).
I'm glad he's at least making the effort to attend - it just goes to show how LGBT issues have finally become mainstream.
I only hope that in the next few weeks he'll rapidly gain an appreciation and understanding of lesbian and gay men's issues in the next few weeks, and accept the fact that his 'three men and a dog' view on civil partnerships was utterly wrong.

Here's hoping he doesn't make the mistake of repeating some of the views he has expressed in the past - which have seemingly miraculously changed:
"Labour's appalling agenda, encouraging the teaching of homosexuality in schools, and all the rest of it."
Etc
