Assume Alastair Campbell was chosen precisely and only so Gilligan would get a good going over?
Isn't that truly pathetic of Ken?
Someone whom he (I assume) despises for his role in the war?
Or did he give Campbell a going over on that front - doesn't sound much like it.
Or does this simply demonstrate that politicians' ultimate loyalty is always to the political class first and foremost.
What little respect I had for Ken - and I did vote for him in 2000 - has gone.
