Have you been to the Olympic Park [rather than village] area of Barcelona? It's a desolate, unconnected set of facilities in the middle of nowhere. At least London's is being planned from the start - but I think people have to realise this kind of thing takes a long time - much longer than 2016 until there's something that looks like a new part of London... In London the change will be incremental and planned far more than in Barcelona and on a scale far greater - the future is a whole new city within a city into which all sorts of people will move over a very long time - not a ruched piecemeal insertion of yuppie flats into the deepest Lower Lea...
