Just back from a TfL Board meeting at City Hall, attended by both Tim Parker and Mayor Johnson - The Hairdo Two - plus Steve Norris in full-on, no nonsense, business-thruster mode and Commissioner Peter Hendy. The main news I suppose is that Hendy confirmed that he won't stand for TfL or Londoners meeting any of the cost of the two recent Oyster card failures. He explained that it was all the fault of TranSys, the EDS/Cubic partnership that runs the Oyster system under PFI (Do I sound as though I know what all this means?). Hendy said the incidents showed a "lack of understanding" by TranSys of the thing they're meant to be operating. Gives you confidence, doesn't it? He'll be "seeking recovery" from TranSys of the estimated £1 million lost in the two cock-ups. More later.
