God, but she was rubbish today, wasn't she? "Children are nice", or something.

I do miss her when she's not there, though. Everyone needs someone to shout at.

This whole article by Gareth McLean about rubbish programmes on Radio 4 is good. But it gets a plug here for this description of Anne Atkins:

"Anne Atkins, the poor man's Melanie Phillips. The very poor man's Phillips. The homeless man's Phillips, in fact. The homeless alcoholic crack addict's Phillips."
