In The Guardian, Lawrence Booth:
"Ah yes, 2005. Golden days. Ricky Ponting would bowl first after winning the toss, Gary Pratt would run him out, the home seamers would reverse-swing it and the visiting batsmen would nick it. But this is Australia. It's a place where the home side tends not to lose and where the locals tend to know it."
Hard to shake that feeling, isn't it? Has been for a while. But, look, this a game in which things can change suddenly, right? In just a few minutes time, poor, shattered Steve might suddenly stand tall, and 400 for 7 will look almost encouraging and Freddie will be smiling again. And if not, well, at least norm will still be happy.
Look on the bright side: once England start losing again, Sky's interest will begin to wane and test match cricket might return to terrestrial where I won't have to listen to Bob Willis' voice droning on into the early hours as I try to stay awake.
